Warning: Spoilers follow…
Here’s what I propose: Chris Hardwick start a CW podcast called Cult that breaks down this show. Only he is on set doing it, and it takes place during the episode itself. That way he can pop in while scenes are happening from time-to-time to address the audience directly and explain what is happening. That format may make more sense and be more entertaining than what the show currently has going.
Don’t have time for a very long review, but wanted to touch base with The CW’s Cult this week just to see if it had suddenly become either brilliant and cohesive or the addictive guilty-pleasure that it has set out to be. I didn’t have much hope for the former, but thought the latter had a chance. Sadly, whatever whacky, good-time w-t-f-ery the show is hoping to inspire has not taken shape. Rather than “what the what!?!” one walks away with a feeling of “what the…oh, who cares anyway.”
