There’s a Companion coming to Pemberley.
BBC One announced today that Doctor Who‘s Jenna-Louise Coleman has been added to the cast of their upcoming three-part Pride and Prejudice-themed mystery series Death Comes to Pemberley, based on the novel of the same name by P.D. James. Coleman will play Lydia Wickham, the trouble-making sister of Eli abeth (Anna Maxwell Martin), who arrives unannounced at her sister’s annual ball hysterical over the supposed death of her husband George Wickham (Matthew Goode). As previously reported The Americans‘ star Matthew Rhys has been tapped to take on the iconic role of Eli abeth’s husband Mr. Darcy whose search party for Wickham’s body turns up something unexpected.
BBC One also announced several more additions to the cast, including Trevor Eve (Waking The Dead), Rebecca Front (The Thick Of It), James Fleet (The Vicar Of Dibley), Penelope Keith (To The Manor Born), Joanna Scanlan (The Thick Of It), Tom Ward (Silent Witness), Eleanor Tomlinson (The White Queen) and James Norton (Doctor Who).
Production begins on Death Comes to Pemberley later this month.
