It’s odd to already have a Dexter teaser trailer out this early in the year, but for the first time ever, Showtime’s hit series is returning in the summer, not the fall.
This Dexter: Season 8 teaser has no actual footage from the show, old or new. Instead, we see names — oh so many names — of those who’ve been killed on the series since it began, either by Dexter or, it could be argued, because of Dexter.
There has been a somewhat frustrating back and forth on whether this is the final season of the show or not. We’ve had producers and cast members say it’s the last season, only for Showtime to keep saying they aren’t ready to make an announcement on that topic. But recently, even the President and Chief Executive Officer of CBS (who own Showtime), Les Moonves, mentioned it was the last season, so at this point, we’re just waiting for Showtime to finally make their official announcement.
