So, did anyone else think this week’s How I Met Your Mother was pulling a Felicity by introducing a time travel element way late in the game? That’s what it seemed like as Ted and Barney were confronted with not only 20-years-from-now versions of themselves, but also 20-hours-from-now Ted and 20-minutes-from-now Barney — all of which were fully interactive with present-day Ted and Barney.
Yep… That’s new.
Indeed, “The Time Travelers” was easily one of the most bi arre and out-there episodes of HIMYM yet, but it was almost so gon o and ridiculous that it actually came back around to being a grounded storyline, particularly for Ted. For the last couple episodes it’s been a strange dynamic where Ted is kind of the odd man out, as it were. It’s clear that his loneliness is really starting to take a toll. To be fair, you can’t feel too bad for the guy knowing that he’s about to meet the love of his life in just 45 days. Even so, it was nice to see this subject directly addressed again, and in a very unique way.
