Among Futurama’s few overarching storylines, Fry and Leela’s romance is definitely one of the more interesting ones — or rather, it used to be. These days it’s just kind of a big question mark, with no real boundaries or longterm goals. For all intents and purposes, though, Fry and Leela seem to be together, at least most of the time. (The show refuses to put them in a fully committed relationship, for some reason.) Now, their romance is more of a plot device that occasionally comes in handy for telling certain stories. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, however, as we saw in tonight’s second episode.
