Guillermo del Toro & HBO Team Up For ‘Monster’ Series Free on klikvideo.com

Guillermo del Toro and HBO have announced their plans to develop an adaption based on the Big Comic Orginal Manga collection Monster from author Naoki Urasawa, Deadline has reported. The project will see Del Toro and Steven Thompson (Dr. Who) collaborate on a story with the Pacific Rim director set to shepard the production.

‘Monster’ was originally slated to become a feature film at New Line, but considering the scope of the intricate and large storyline, the project is said to be better suited for a series. The plot follows a 12-year-old sociopathic boy, whose life was saved by a doctor with plenty of regrets now that mass genocide has ensued. Del Toro will executive produce the project with Thompson serving as co-executive producer alongside Angry Films partners Don Murphy and Susan Montford. Shogakukan is slated to be consulting producer.

Del Toro is currently rumored to be working on ‘Hellboy 3′ as well. In addition, the director’s highly anticipated film ‘Pacific Rim’ is on the hori on. The July 2013 release stars Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy), Ron Perlman (Sons of Anarchy), Idris Elba (Thor) and Charlie Day (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia).

What do you think of Del Toro’s latest project? Are you excited over ‘Monster’?
