The pulled episode of Hannibal will see the light of day after all– albeit in a “cannibali ed” form.
At series creator Bryan Fuller’s request, episode four, which was scheduled to air this Thursday, was pulled from the schedule in light of the tragic Sandy Hooks Elementary School shootings, as well as the recent Boston Marathon bombing. The episode’s dark storyline involved children being brainwashed into killing other children and Fuller told Variety that he “didn’t want to have anyone come to the show and have a negative experience.” Instead of completely shelving the episode, NBC has released an edited version as a six-part web series online.
Entitled “Ceuf,” the series will delve into Hannibal’s relationship with Abigail Hobbs and Will Graham. Check out the first part, embedded below, to see a special introduction from Fuller.
In place of “Ceuf,” episode five, “Coquilles,” has been bumped up a week to air this Thursday, April 25th at 10/9c on NBC.
