One of the more interesting things about Division (and what made letting it redeem itself such a futile idea, really) is that its comprised almost completely of (to borrow a phrase) “troubled, violent killers with low self esteem.” Since last season’s finale we’ve seen all our heroes wrestle with this noble but probably bad idea and in “Masks”, the wheels finally came off.
I loved the moment when Alex reali ed that her little rebellion had morphed into something much too big for her to control (why, hello there tipping point), almost like a ombie hoard. Alex’s recent squirrelyness is even more off-putting to her new acolytes than it’s been to her friends. Even though she’s been compromised, her motives are sincere. She (like her mentor, Nikita) wants to save everyone. She wants to free the Red Shirts but not in a way that will hurt Nikita, Michael and the others.
