The Office: "Stairmaggedon" Review Free on klikvideo.com

This was an odd one. In some ways “Stairmaggedon” felt like a more “traditional” or standard The Office episode with a nice balance between the characters and plenty for everyone to do. Well plenty for the principals to do with enough room for the secondary characters to play a part as well. On the other hand, the Jim/Pam, Angela/Oscar/The Senator storylines felt the best suited to be in number five of the last five episodes of this nine-year series.


By that I mean, those stories felt like they were driving toward a conclusion for the characters. Pam and Jim have been the spine of this season and have had the one consistent story thread that has carried through. Other than the Brian-the-boom-guy bump in the road, theirs has been the strongest and most consistent of all the subplots. Pam and Jim are there to serve the genuine emotion in the series, as they always have. Dwight, Creed, Meredith, Kevin, Erin and even Angela have always been there to function as outlandish caricatures. Oscar, Darryl, Toby and Phyllis more straight players, Andy’s been a bit all over the place and Stanley has been in a class all his own. Those are the broad strokes. The strait one’s have their wacky times and the nut jobs their tender and more sincere moments; and of course there are plenty of additional characters that have come in and out over the years. In general terms, though, each character has been designed to hit a certain emotional or comedic chord.
