The gang is back together again after a brief foray into the truncated pilot for the Dwight-centric spinoff series “The Farm.” With “Promos”, the writers have done a good job of creating a real sense that they understand that the end is nigh for this beloved series, and that they ware committed to giving these characters the send off they deserve.
The glimpse of the promos for the long-awaited, decade-in-the-making documentary series based on the antics of the Dunder Mifflin staff served multiple purposes. It gave us, the audience, and the characters an opportunity to take a walk down memory lane. It reminded us of some of the best moments in the series and demonstrated the evolution of these relationships. We were able to recall what Angela and Dwight have meant to each other – strange, sexual rivalry, mostly – even as we watched them go on their individual ways. Dwight with his supermodel Brussel sprout farmer Esther and Angela with her now less-workable three-way arrangement with the Senator and Oscar.
